MTA REPLACEMENT MILLAGE

FOR NO INCREASE

VOTE YES FOR MTA FLINT & VITAL TRANSPORTATION

MTA Flint is essential to keeping Genesee County moving forward.  Voting yes will mean sustained services, no increase & millage renewals only every 5 years.

TRANSPORTATION IS ESSENTIAL.

Riders throughout the county rely on MTA to live healthy, independent lives.

VOTE YES ON AUGUST 4TH

On August 4th, Vote Yes for the MTA Flint Replacement Millage to support fundamental and essential public transportation throughout Genesee County.  These funds

Millage funding is necessary to supplement funding due to State’s inability to provide up to 50% allowed through Public Act 51.

Millages have allowed MTA to sustain and grow services necessary to meet the special needs that exist in our community today; with an aging population requiring extensive medical transportation and employees who need rides to and from their jobs.

WHAT'S NEW IN THIS MILLAGE

In the past, the MTA has been forced to renew millages almost on an annual basis.

The MTA will ask voters to support a replacement millage that will combine county millages into one millage that will come up for renewal every 5 years.

The replacement millage will reduce the overall amount currently paid by county residents (no increase).

The reduction is possible due to the new alternative fuels fleet operating in the community today; which includes propane, compressed natural gas and hydrogen.

How MTA Flint has Improved County Transportation

NEW SERVICES & DEMAND RESPONSE TRANSPORTATION

The MTA has developed special Rides to Wellness services throughout Genesee County by partnering with area agencies to address the growing need for medical related services. A fleet of 120 vehicles, including 100 cars, deliver on-demand service for same day needs. Since its inception in 2016 with 160 passengers in the first month to nearly 15,000 in the month of December 2019, the program is considered a great success.

The new Rides to Wellness program in our community is considered as the number one program in the country and as the White House lauds, is the model for the country.
